ABOUT MALTA

The Maltese archipelago lies virtually at the centre of the Mediterranean, 93 km south of Sicily and 288 km north of Africa. The archipelago consists of three islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino with a total population of over 500,000 inhabitants occupying an area of 316 square kilometres.

Malta is the largest island and the cultural, commercial and administrative centre. Gozo is the second largest island and is more rural, characterised by fishing, tourism, crafts and agriculture. Comino, the smallest of the trio, is largely uninhabited.

With superbly sunny weather, attractive beaches, a thriving nightlife and 7,000 years of intriguing history, there is a great deal to see and do.

Malta is very easy to reach as it is very well connected by all European cities. Major airlines flying to Malta are KM Malta Airlines, Ryanair, Easy Jet, Wizz Air, Air Serbia, Lufthansa, Emirates, British Airways, Swiss and many others.

TYPICAL CAMP DAY

Each camp day starts with a buffet breakfast (all meals at our camps are buffet). After that we have transport to the training facility.

Each day consists of 4 hours of basketball practice. The first 2 hours are dedicated to the development of all major basketball skills, where our coaches pay full attention to the individual development of each player. After the break, the last 90 minutes of each training session are reserved for games.

After training, we go back to the hotel where we have lunch and rest.

Late afternoons and evenings are reserved for excursions and cultural discovery as we visit all of Malta’s major attractions.

Throughout our camp, we also organise educational seminars for our players. Here, we talk about psychological preparation for games, healthy lifestyle for young sportsmen, and many other interesting topics that are crucial for the development of young players.

After dinner, players have free time.

Overall, we ensure that every minute of our camp has many interesting activities after fun-filled training sessions.

FUN TIME – EXCURSIONS

During our camp, we organise two excursions for our players and their families:

  • Mdina
  • Valletta

MDINA

Mdina is the former capital city of Malta, before Valletta existed, in Medieval times. Mdina has been stuck in a time warp ever since. It’s a tiny place that is completely closed in with high city walls, which is how it earned its nickname of 'the silent city'.

Mdina is a truly fascinating, enchanting city with limestone buildings, colourful doors, a strong religious community and lots of hidden stories lurking in the winding streets.

VALLETTA

Often described as an open-air museum and a living piece of history, Valletta’s streets and sights will have you wandering around to marvel at all its beauty. The Baroque architecture adorns all corners of the small city, and there are plenty of historical buildings to admire.

Founded in 1565 by the Knights of St. John, it was stated that Valletta would be “a city built by gentlemen for gentlemen”, and it remains true to its 16th-century class. The fortified city walls overlook the Mediterranean Sea.
